The Student Writing Center (SWC) is located on the 2nd floor of Alden Library and provides free scheduled face-to-face appointments and walk-ins, and online help for graduate students, commuter students, and students enrolled in an online course who cannot access the face-to-face center.
The Graduate Writing & Research Center (GWRC) is located on the 3rd floor of Alden Library, in 309, and also provides free scheduled appointments for graduate and undergraduate students who have longer and more specialized writing projects, such as a dissertation or a research proposal. Students who use the GWRC may want to talk to a subject librarian about research issues. These students may need more time with a tutor, and might like to work with the same tutor for each session.
Assistance is available at both centers for any stage of the writing process. You can get help with developing your thesis or main idea, organizing or developing your ideas, the bibliography, grammatical issues, or any other writing concerns.
